PRELUDE — Supplication — Hebble
*CALLING ONE ANOTHER TO WORSHIP — John Weiland
One: We gather to worship God.
All: We are God’s people.
One: God anoints us to bring good news to all people.
All: The Spirit of God is upon us.
One: God draws us together as many parts of one body.
All: Together, we become the Body of Christ.
One: This day is holy to our Resurrecting God!
All: The joy of God is our strength!
*HYMN — Hymn of Promise — #277
In the bulb, there is a flower
In the seed, an apple tree
In cocoons, a hidden promise
Butterflies will soon be free
In the cold and snow of winter
There’s a spring that waits to be
Unrevealed until its season
Something God alone can see
There’s a song in every silence
Seeking word and melody
There’s a dawn in every darkness
Bringing hope to you and me
From the past will come the future
What it holds, a mystery
Unrevealed until its season
Something God alone can see
In our end is our beginning
In our time, infinity
In our doubt, there is believing
In our life, eternity
In our death, a resurrection
At the last, a victory
Unrevealed until its season
Something God alone can see
*PRAYER OF INVOCATION — John Weiland
O God, our Creator; you bring separate lives together. You gather us to hear your Word and to respond. You bless us by inviting us to carry out your ministries. We seek your guidance and your wisdom. Above all, God, we seek you. Help us to perceive who you reveal yourself to be. Guide us. With your help, we aspire to become your faithful disciples. Transform us from lone individuals into one community, the Body of Christ.
Merciful God, your Spirit is upon us. Your joy is our strength. Draw us together. We pray in your name, Jesus. Amen.
*PRAISE RESPONSE — Shout to the Lord — worship booklet, pp. 80-81
Shout to the Lord!
My Jesus, my Savior
Lord there is none like You
All of my days I want to praise
The wonders of Your mighty love
My comfort, my shelter
Tower of refuge and strength
Let every breath, all that I am
Never cease to worship You
Shout to the Lord all the Earth, let us sing
Power and majesty, praise to the King
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands
Forever I’ll love You, forever I’ll stand
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You
CHILDREN’S MESSAGE — Jo Ann Moody
*HYMN — Give Thanks, with a Grateful Heart — worship booklet, p. 42
Give thanks with a grateful heart,
Give thanks to the Holy One,
Give thanks because He’s given
Jesus Christ His Son.
Give thanks with a grateful heart,
Give thanks to the Holy One,
Give thanks because He’s given
Jesus Christ His Son.
And now let the weak say “I am strong”
Let the poor say “I am rich”
Because of what the Lord has done for us.
And now let the weak say “I am strong”
Let the poor say “I am rich”
Because of what the Lord has done for us.
Give thanks, give thanks.

Pastor Dan Wilson:
I thank you all for the love, kindness, and support that you have shown me during our many years together. I ask your forgiveness for the mistakes that I have made. I am grateful for the ways my leadership has been accepted. As I leave, I carry with me all that I have learned here.

We receive your thankfulness, offer forgiveness, and accept that you now leave to serve God in new ways. We express our gratitude for your time among us. We ask your forgiveness for our mistakes. Your influence on our faith and faithfulness will not leave us at your departure.

PRAYER OF BLESSING
Leader:
Let us all pray together.
All:
Gracious God, whose everlasting love for all is trustworthy, help each of us to trust the future which rests in Your care. In the time we were together, You saw our laughter and tears, our hopes and disappointments. Guide us as we hold these cherished memories and move in new directions, trusting that You are with us on every path. We have experienced Your blessing on our ministry together, Faithful God. We ask that You continue to bless the ministries of Ivy Chapel United Church of Christ and of Pastor Dan Wilson. We pray this in Your name, Christ Jesus. Amen.
*HYMN — Sing Praise and Hallelujah! — worship booklet, p. 77
Sing praise and hallelujah! To God who reigns supreme.
Creator of this planet And all we see or dream.
Today we raise our voices In thanks for days and years.
God’s love and truth have led us Through all our joys and tears.
Sing praise and Hallelujah! For present friends and past,
For children’s voices singing, For faith and hope that lasts,
For sacraments and sermons Through which we’ve known God’s Word,
For kindly thoughts and actions We, here, have seen and heard.
Sing praise and hallelujah! Long may our witness thrive,
For God still calls to service And keeps our faith alive.
The future lies before us With mission to increase.
All ages join the chorus Proclaiming joy and peace.
