Ready to escape the cold weather? Join us inside the warm confines of Ivy Chapel for spicy (but not too spicy) chili. It’s one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, but it’s also a great chance to connect with your neighbors and friends. Bring them along, bring the entire family… and have fun!

You are invited to a vintage (but that does not mean old and stuffy) evening of wine, cheese, appetizers, desserts, music and more. And oh yeah, did we mention the auction? Silent and oral auctions, secret bubbly bags and other surprises are in store all evening long.

Calling all creatures great and small! You’re invited to bring your owners (sorry guys, you’ll have to be on a leash or in a cage most of the time) to the annual Ivy Chapel Blessing of the Animals.

Please let your owners know that this year, we are partnering with SNUGGLEÂ (Special Needs Under Gentle Guided Love Everyday).

We’ll have a collection for SNUGGLE at the event. Items they particularly need include:
bleach
baby receiving blankets
top loading hard carriers
nebulizer
Swisspers cotton balls

We are fortunate to have this very symbolic opportunity to begin the Lenten Season together. We will break bread together in Fellowship Hall at 6 PM.
7:30 PM WORSHIPÂ -Â Ash Wednesday, March 1
We will embark on the Lenten Season together in worship at 7:30 PM on Ash Wednesday, March 1. This service will include the Imposition of Ashes and the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
Blessing of the Animals, Sep. 17

Ivy Chapel United Church of Christ will be celebrating our annual “Blessing of the Animals.†This is a life-affirming, sacred event. All creatures of God are welcome! Ever since our inaugural “Blessing†(which took place here in 2001 merely days after 9-11), this deeply meaningful gathering has been a beloved tradition. Each autumn, we gather to praise God for blessing this world with miraculous life –in all its glorious forms! If you have a treasured creature with whom you share your home and your life, we urge you to take part in this marvelous celebration on Saturday, Sept. 17. Bring your life companion(s) for a memorable afternoon on Holy Ground. Blessings will be offered at the rustic altar and cross near our outdoor pavilion. There will be complimentary refreshments for all of God’s creatures to enjoy. Join us!

Ivy Chapel UCC members and friends are invited to a special stargazing event on the UMSL campus on April 16, run by our own Bruce Wilking.
The viewing begins at 8:30 pm weather permitting. In case of cloudy weather, a cancellation message will be posted at 314-516-5706 by 6 pm.
