We have always been blessed with good weather for this event…but this year was certainly one of the best. Dogs of all sizes and cats were in abundance.

Music has always been a big part of life at Ivy Chapel… and now Ivy Chapel is a big part of one St. Louis music school, too! The St. Louis School of Music is using Ivy’s facilities for weekend rehearsals, lessons and recitals. Using our facility will give the school a better opportunity to give students and the community a broader understanding for and love of music. Use your brainpower to help JNM! Trivia Night, Sept. 11

Those little, seemingly useless facts aren’t so useless after all. Use your knowledge of the obscure to help our neighbors at Joint Neighborhood Ministry’s 3rd Annual Trivia Night. It’s Saturday, Sept. 11 at St. John’s Evangelical UCC. The church is located at 11333 St. John’s Church Road. (click the address for directions.)

Ivy Fall Picnic at Millennium Park, Sep. 12

Invite your friends and family to Ivy Chapel’s Fall Picnic. After church we’ll head down to Millennium Park for a reptile experience! We’ll have a reptile zoo and many other activities for kids… including the famous Millennium playground and water fountain play area.

Bring your own lunch… drinks and fresh watermelon will be provided.

Calling all eighth graders to Confirmation

We’re assembling our 2010-2011 class of Confirmands. Do you know an eighth grader who would like to join us this year? Come to our Informational Meeting on August 29th right after worship (the meeting should start around 11:15 or so). For more information, contact Linda Lowry or Pastor Dan.

Celebrate the new school year, Aug. 22

It’s time once again for Rally Day… Aug. 22! Help us kick off the new year in style. The theme for this year is “Caring for God’s Creation: Living in harmony with nature and all of God’s creatures.”

Want to help us celebrate? Join us for worship on August 22… and dress for the occasion:

Pre-K/K, 1^st & 2^nd Grade – wear Blue

3^rd, 4^th & 5^th Grade – wear Red

6^th, 7^th & 8^th Grade – wear Green

9^th – 12^th Grade – wear Black

Be sure to stay for lunch afterwards. When we’re done eating, we’ll make plans for the upcoming school year and youth group events. Have questions? Send us an e-mail.

Have you always thought about singing in the church choir — but never felt up to the task? It’s time to put your inhibitions aside and lend your voice! Rehearsals begin September 1.
